It is likely you get tempted several times to pop this whitish thing, yes, it is usually definitely tempting to do so, but DON’T!

When you pop or pick your whiteheads, you’ll be worsening the problem and providing room for infection, pimples and even scars, so beware. By the way, what is powering the scourge of whiteheads?

Well, find out what causes this skin illness before you can follow the recommended solutions which will be talked about shortly.

Why Whiteheads?

Just like its counterpart acne, whiteheads result from a combination of factors. The tiny hairs you find on your face are connected to a gland below the skin – the sebaceous gland. This gland is in charge of the production of sebum. Natural moisturizing of the skin is made achievable by the sebum. Also, the sebum works to stop the growth of micro-organism on your skin. However, the sebum can develop and solidify; when this happens, the pore of your skin can be blocked.

Also, other things such as your body’s natural oil, dead skin cells and other small fragments can combine with build-up sebum to block up your skin’s pores; the resulting effect of this is whiteheads.  Just like acne, white heads can roughen your skin and make it much less pleasant to behold. They are usually found around the cheeks and eyes.

Can Whiteheads be removed?

Of course! Besides the medications from your dermatologist, there are other remedies for whiteheads. And the good news is that you can get rid of whiteheads by yourself. Here are some tips that will help you.

Facial Wash

Mind you, this facial wash is not with the dermatological products you are used to; this is actually the natural facial wash and guess what it is – warm water. To help reduce or get rid of whiteheads, wash your face twice every day with warm water and mild soap or your regular facial wash. DO NOT scrub or rub, massage gently using just your fingertips.

Medication

The general medication for acne is Benzoyl peroxide; this will also work for whiteheads. Apply directly on the affected areas after washing your face. Check the direction on the amount to be applied per use and use your finger only whey applying the medication. Do not bring it in contact with your eyes-to avoid irritation of your eyes. You may experience itching and redness at the first time, but it is only temporal.

Exfoliation

Exfoliate your skin with textured products like facial scrubs. Efficient exfoliation of your facial skin can be achieved by entering facial steaming at least once a week. When you steam your face, you are aiding the opening of the pores, making it easier for your scrubs to penetrate and clean better.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to help you remain hydrated and prevent your skin from whiteheads and acne growth. Water also acts as a detoxifier and therefore helps you to stay healthy.

Watch what You Eat

If you eat healthy, you’re sure to stay healthy. Consume more of fruits and vegetables; this too helps to detoxify your body.

Stick to the advice provided in this article. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the final results.
